Palawan Hope Christian School (PHCS) recently celebrated the triumphant success of its three-day Juniors’ Encampment, held at La Corbel Beach Resort from November 22 to 24, 2023. The event, attended by students from grades 8, 9, and 10, proved to be an immersive experience that not only fostered faith but also created lasting memories of fellowship and spiritual growth.

The primary objective of the encampment was to bring students closer to the Lord, fortify their faith, and encourage a deeper connection with Jesus. A range of activities, including plenaries where campers shared reflections on completed tasks, allowed participants to embrace the cross and feel the embrace of God.

Ms. Flor, one of the camp facilitators, expressed her joy in witnessing the students’ enjoyment of all activities. She shared, “I’m reminded to obey God, maintain consistent prayer time, read the word of God, and fellowship with other believers.” Ms. Flor’s personal growth mirrored the transformative impact of the encampment.

The dedicated team of facilitators, including Grade 8 Advisers Ms. Janelle M. Cababat and Ms. Flordeliza B. Aderes, Grade 9 Advisers Ms. Dolly C. De Ramas and Ms. Diana Marie S. Corral, and Grade 10 Advisers Ms. Jelly R. Parcon and Mr. Reymond P. Pateño, worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event. Other facilitators included Ms. KC Parcon, Ms. Melody Santos, Mr. Rene Reyes, with Ms. Gueia E. Cabanday serving as Camp Coordinator and Ptr. Israel C. Santos as Camp Director.

To deepen the campers’ understanding of God, PHCS invited esteemed pastors as plenary speakers. Ptr. Emmanuel C. Lao, Youth Pastor of United Evangelical Church of Palawan, and Ptr. Ricky C. Tamayor, Senior Pastor of Evangel Church of Palawan, shared insightful messages that left a lasting impact on the young minds.

Understanding the importance of safety, Palawan Hope also had Nurse Victory Benjamin Ababa on site to provide first aid in case of unforeseen situations, ensuring the well-being of all campers.

In reflecting on the success of the encampment, PHCS administrators expressed their gratitude to God. The event not only achieved its spiritual goals but also created a memorable experience for students, fostering a sense of community and growth.

The Juniors’ Encampment at Palawan Hope Christian School stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education, where spiritual development is as essential as academic excellence.
