Palawan Hope Christian School (PHCS) successfully held the ElevateED: PHCS Teachers’ Development Seminar last Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the PHCS Library. The seminar was attended by the school’s teachers and academic staff as part of its continuing efforts to enhance instructional quality and professional growth.
The program opened with an interactive icebreaker led by Ms. Gueia E. Cabanday, Academic Coordinator, followed by an opening prayer by Ms. Helen A. Trajano, also an Academic Coordinator. Ms. Nanette G. Heredero, School Principal, formally welcomed the participants and introduced the guest speakers from the College of Education of Palawan State University.
The first session was facilitated by Dr. Mary G. Alvior, Dean of the College of Education, who delivered an insightful discussion on “Enhancing Test Questions Making for Quality and Meaningful Assessment.” Her presentation emphasized the importance of well-crafted assessment tools in measuring student learning outcomes effectively.
The second speaker, Ms. Mithus P. Bermil, Professor at the College of Education, shared two meaningful sessions entitled “Integrating Affective Learning in the Development of Lesson Objectives for Values Education” and “Teaching Approaches, Strategies, Methods and Techniques in Values Education.” Her discussions highlighted practical strategies in strengthening values education through purposeful lesson planning and classroom approaches.
Key learnings and reflections from the seminar were shared by Ms. Jessica H. Villalon, Ms. Jelly R. Parcon, and Ms. Janna Marie P. Malvarosa, reinforcing the relevance of the topics discussed. The program concluded with the giving of tokens to the guest speakers by Ms. Nanette G. Heredero, followed by a closing prayer led by Ms. Ninfa P. Bayani, Preschool Activities Coordinator. The seminar was hosted by Ms. Roselyn M. Reyes, Academic Coordinator.
